They said it couldn’t be repeated…. but following last year’s sell out event at the Sub Rooms, those rascals at For The Love Productions are saving the world again with a cracking gig at The Sub Rooms with all the profits going to some of our favourite Stroud based charities..

So that’s our bit, your job is to come on down with your mates for a beer and a boogie and party on with 2 of the best good-time bands in the business!

For yes dear reader ‘tis true that the mighty Soul Destroyers (“the best party band in Bristol” – Evening Post) and the equally awesome Arkansaw Jukebox Collective will both be laying their party grooves, which means no one gets out without a smile on their face!

Lots of info on the bands and charities below for those who have never had the pleasure of a For The Love shindig.

So, 2 cracking bands, late bar, boogie the night away and, you’ll be helping both the planet and some of your fellow humans who most need it – party on and go to heaven… what’s not to like!

More About The Soul Destroyers
More of a tribe than a band, the mighty Soul Destroyers have been playing their mix of cheese tinged, horn driven soul since Adam was a lad – the line-up has come and gone, some have drifted into the sunset, and some have (genuinely), during their reign as “Best Party Band in Bristol” (Bristol Evening Post/Venue Magazine), been born, grown up and then joined the band!

A 13 piece line up, with 6 awesome horns, 3 singers and a rock solid rhythm section it is an unnatural phenomenon of truly awe-inspiring musical power.

So yes it’s sort of soul covers from all the usual suspects (Motown, Stax, Atlantic) but don’t be surprised if you end up at some very unexpected musical destinations – ever noticed how bits of soul classics end up in some unusual contemporary tracks? … well they have and they aren’t afraid to take you there!

More About The Arkansaw Jukebox Collective
Lock up your moonshine – The Arkansaw Jukebox Collective is coming to town!!

They’ve loaded up the pick-up for a rare trip into town for ’tis true the awesome Arkansaw Jukebox Collective will be playing their now legendary set of covers by everyone from the Sex Pistols to Stormzy (yes… really!) – but, of course they play ’em “just like god intended …. Bluegrass style!”

The moving feast of humanity that is the collective (girls, blokes, fiddles, banjos, trumpets – just play what y’brung!) deliver a show stopping performance with covers of very well-known numbers (cue the big sing-a-long!) but with a real twist as they unearth the hidden country heart in EVERY genre of music. Rock, pop, hip-hop, dance, rap – they all get the treatment!

I know it sounds bonkers, but it kinda works!

More About The Charities You Are Supporting

Citizens Advice Stroud – We are a local charity that provides free, independent, impartial and confidential advice across the Stroud and Cotswold districts of Gloucestershire and we works to empower and enable people to use that advice to solve their problems, whatever they may be.

Fair Shares – brings people together through the sharing of time, skills and acts of kindness. Their time banks recognise that everyone has something to contribute. They connect people to share their experience and knowledge to support each other, building friendships and changing lives.

They believe everyone has something to offer, and through the giving and receiving of time, we can build a place where we all help each other, create friendships and learn new skills. Everyone feels connected and valued, sharing what they can to build stronger communities.

The Door Stroud – whose mission is to bring hope into the lives of young people and their families, through unlocking potential and opening opportunity so their past does not define their future.
Motivated by the Christian values of hope, forgiveness and prayer The Door delivers its services at the heart of local communities, seeking to engage stakeholders from the bottom up. They have in-depth knowledge of the local area and its people and tackle the root causes leading to enduring results and are prepared to deal with complex issues that other agencies shy away from.
The Door travels with people for the long term – walking alongside them, carrying the burden and never giving up.
