Working hard to make The Subs better for everyone…

Prior to the lockdown The Subscription Rooms Trust, the charity which runs The Subs, was lucky enough to receive two grants to improve the building for our visitors.

While we are unable to commence work on either project at the moment, as soon as it is safe to do so we will be making a start on two very exciting projects:

Better equipped to entertain: In recognition of the role we play in bringing entertainment, art and culture to our community The Arts Council have awarded us money their Grass Roots Music Fund to upgrade some of our (very old and out-dated) equipment so we can provide a better experience for our audiences

Improving the sound of The Subs: Thanks to The Summerfield Charitable Trust and their kind support we are finally in the position to start making an improvement to the way our brilliant visiting musicians sound when they visit our ballroom.

Acoustics experts from Rossco, who have previously worked with some of the biggest music producers and venues in the world have carefully analysed the performance space and are poised to begin work as soon as possible.
