Become a Sub-scriber
When you donate to our Better Building campaign, you will become rooted in history as one of our Sub-Scribers.
When The Subscription Rooms was originally built in 1833, it was built through public subscription. This means that the people of Stroud, many of whom were Mill owners, donated their own money to ensure that the project had enough funds to see it through to completion.
By means of recognition, those who donated were known as Subscribers.
This year, in 2019, we launch a Better Building campaign. To continue the historical legacy of The Subscribers, we are re-launching The Sub-Scriber campaign.
If you donate to our better building campaign, you will become a 2019 Sub-Scriber, and you can join the lists of people who can truly say they contributed towards the building.
The Better Building Campaign
There will be major renovations to The Sub Rooms in August which will dramatically improve your experience and enjoyability of the spaces over the next few years.
You’ll be able to enjoy better access, better arts provision through creating a brand newbrand-new performance space, with better seating, better and brighter spaces as you travel through the building, and better café experiences with better alfresco options.
