The inimitable post-punk icon Brix Smith announces details of her new live band, which features My Bloody Valentine duo Deb Googe (bass) and Jen Macro (keys/guitar), along with Lisa Lux (drums).

Brix says, “I’m so excited to be playing with my amazing supergroup of phenomenal women players. Come feel the power, noise, energy and love. We will take you on a full spectrum ride.” Renowned for her time as a member of The Fall and as the founder of The Extricated and The Adult Net, Brix Smith’s new band played their first major show as gueststo Killing Joke before embarking upon a nationwide tour with Public Image Ltd. Her latest project has been highlighted by an interview with Chris Hawkins on 6 Music as well as news coverage from NME, Clash and Louder Than War. Brix Smith will release her debut solo album ‘Valley Of The Dolls’ in March 23 via Republic of Music. Entirely cowritten by Brix and produced by the Grammy Award winning Youth (The Verve, Jesus & Mary Chain, Killing Joke), the album will also feature special guests such as Susanna Hoffs from The Bangles and Siobhan Fahey of Bananarama and Shakespears Sister. Brix Smith is one of the few true female rock icons of the indie and alternative era, an inspiration for generations of women, not just those who play music. Singer, guitarist, songwriter, author, illustrator and actor, Brix is best known as the lead guitarist and a major songwriter for the Fall, the most uncompromising and influential of all the post-punk groups worldwide. While studying theatre and literature, at Bennington College in Vermont, Brix started on her journey as a songwriter and musician, forming her first band Banda Dratsing in 1982. Two of the songs Brix wrote during the period were later renamed and recorded with The Fall.

Acknowledging her importance to the band, some critics break the Fall's career and evolution into the pre-Brix years, the Brix years, and the post-Brix years. She rejoined for the writing, recording and live promotion of the albums Cerebral Caustic and The Light User Syndrome in 1995 and1996 before leaving again.

In 1985, Brix launched her solo project, The Adult Net, releasing four singles for Beggars Banquet, before signing to Phonogram Records. The Adult Net released their only album The Honey Tangle written by Brix, in 1989, with a stellar quartet of Brix on vocals and guitar, Craig Gannon (The Smiths) on guitar, James Eller (The The) on bass and Clem Burke (Blondie) on drums.
