We celebrate the 150th anniversary of composer Ralph Vaughan Williams with a special performance from the Le Page Ensemble.
Directed by internationally renowned violinist David Le Page, who has a long association with English music, this evening of compositions by Gloucestershire-born Vaughan Williams and his contemporaries Finzi and Holst, features The Lark Ascending, Vaughan Williams paean to the skylark and its song. The programme also pays homage to the composer’s love of English folk music in a set of beautiful arrangements by members of the ensemble.
David appears regularly as a soloist, chamber musician and orchestral leader and has formed his own groups, the Le Page Ensemble, the Harborough Collective, Subway Piranhas and Mysterious Barricades. He is leader of the Stratford-Upon-Avon based Orchestra of the Swan.
