With only a few weeks to go until his debut DJ set at The Sub Rooms, Howard Donald has begun to take over the streets of Stroud and comment sections on socials!
Well known for being part of one of the UK's biggest pop groups, Take That, Howard's journey in music started way before joining the boyband.
Beginning in 1987, spinning records at home, he took his passion out into clubs across the world, where he has been performing sets for the last 20 years.
Last week, we dropped a hint that we had an exciting announcement on our social channels, asking our newsletter subscribers to look out the following morning for the reveal.
The announcement stirred up some passionate conversation on our socials, with commenters discussing their theories on who it could be in the build up and expressing their opinions after the news broke.
Word has begun to spread since, with posters being spotted in all corners of town and a lot of talk across local news outlets, such as The Stroud Times and Stroud News & Journal.
The Stroud Journal wrote: "Now, Stroud clubbers will get the chance to see another side of the Take That star when he takes to the decks at the Sub Rooms."
The gig will also have appearances from Cheltenham’s Lisa Unique, blending funk and disco, as well as Stroud’s own DJ extraordinaire, Neon Pumps.
Mixing with CDJs, he uses his ear to find the perfect sound to get everyone in the crowd connected. Unlike the pop stylings of his boyband career, expect a night of tech-house and electro-house sounds.
With his history of playing venues such as Ministry of Sound, Pacha and Gatecrasher, this is a night not to be missed.
Considering all the buzz, it's no surprise that first-day sales smashed all expectations, with fans of house music and Howard Donald snapping up theses in-demand tickets.
