Bristol 24/7 Impressed by Peatbogs at The Subs

“And so it was that, one dark and stormy night, a car-load of intrepid folk-rave fans faced the M5 North head on, driving through gusty winds and lashing rain to reach this creative outpost and the opportunity to dance the night away with a fervency only the Peatbogs can inspire”

And, wow, what a night it was! Last weekend on October 24th, we were lucky enough to fill our Ballroom with the incredible sound of Peatbog Faeries, and if you were lucky enough to be one of the people who managed to secure a ticket for this sold-out show, we hope you felt as excited as we did, and enjoyed what was an outstanding show.

The evening has been written about in a fabulous article posted by Ursula Billington at B24/7, where we’ve been mentioned amongst some of the best indie venues in Bristol, including the O2 and the Jam Jar. We feel really honoured to be spoken about in the same beat as these great music venues as well as connecting with and being spoken of so highly by B24/7. Being Bristol’s “cosy little sister” not only feels like it suits Stroud so well but also feels like such a compliment when the Sub Rooms is being described as “an impressive sight” and that our sound system and “production standards are second to none”.

We’re glad to hear that our specially designed sprung Ballroom floor was “bouncing with the sheer force of happy jumping bodies on more than one occasion.” It also sounds like what the people want is Peatbogs back at The Subs again and again, we hope we can deliver and that they’d also love to come back for their next tour.
