As a Grassroots venue, part of our mission statement is to bring culturally and artistically significant offerings to our community regardless of whether there is profit to be made for us or not. This means that we work hard to bring acts from new Grassroots musicians to household name icons to our community. Putting on Grassroots gigs allows us to provide a platform or up and coming artists, supporting them in the early stages of their career, something which is very close to our hearts. Putting on Grassroots specific shows such as The Sounds of Stroud, Stroud Beer Fest and our new programme of Grassroots gigs has seen great success so far.

AS A SUPPORTER

If you're a music lover then this one's for you. Get back to the roots of where it all starts, and join us for our upcoming Grassroots gigs featuring brilliant artists such as Flint Moore, Saint Senara, Franz Von and more. Buying tickets to our Grassroots gigs, and of course, The Sounds of Stroud really helps our artists feel the love, gives them the opportunity to play to a big crowd in a great venue and of course helps to fund these shows. 

However, as mentioned, these gigs are not a profit making exercise and so we rely heavily on funding from outside sources to keep them going. This year, we are taking part in THE BIG GIVE, a brilliant match-funding opportunity where every penny we raise up to £5,000 will be doubled, giving us the opportunity to raise a whopping £10k for our Grassroots programme. From 18th March - 25th March 2025 we'll be kindly asking for donations made directly to The Big Give, which you can do so here. Outside of this time, we are always incredibly grateful for donations via the website here.

AS AN ARTIST

There are several ways you can get involved in our Grassroots music programme at The Subs. Whether that's joining us for the free to attend monthly Jam's Jam, entering our Sounds of Stroud showcase, applying to play at Stroud Beer Fest or to be a support act for one of our headliners. There are plenty of ways you can get your spot on The Sub Rooms stage.
