Celebrating 75 Years of Stroud Arts Festival: On 11 December, we’ve invited the Hewletts Opera to Stroud, for two performances of The Marriage of Figaro, Mozart’s cherished Opera, a classical masterpiece that has been loved by audiences worldwide since its first performance in Vienna in 1786. 

Set in a fine country house somewhere near Stroud, Figaro and his lovely girlfriend Susanna are trying to plan a simple wedding. When your employer is none other than a lecherous count blatantly trying to get Susanna into bed before her wedding night things are anything but simple. Will the count get his wicked way with Susanna?  The Hewletts Opera bring Mozart’s cherished comic opera into a 1970s setting. The evening concert at 7.30pm will be a full performance, sung in English, with a live accompaniment.
