Jacqueline Wilson

Esme Pepper

We’re hugely excited to welcome the one and only Dame Jacqueline Wilson to Stroud Book Festival. Jacqueline’s books have shaped generations of young readers, making her one of the most impactful voices in contemporary children’s literature.

Jacqueline joins us to talk about her brand-new children’s book – “Esme Pepper” – a funny, touching and hopeful story about the resilience of a young girl as her world is turned upside down and she has to go into foster care.

Esme Pepper was inspired by the many sparky children in care that Jacqueline has met since writing The Story of Tracy Beaker and tells the story of Esme’s developing friendship with her elderly foster carers.

Don’t miss this chance to hear from a legend of children’s books!

NB. There will be no book signing after this event but printed bookplates with Jacqueline Wilson’s name on will be available from our Festival bookshop.
