Led By Donkeys

Inimitable political accountability collective Led By Donkeys was founded in early 2019 when four friends, motivated by the “thermonuclear hypocrisy of our political overlords” starting going out at night to paste up guerrilla billboards of leading Brexiters’ historic tweets.

Since then, their installations – blending art and activism – have reached millions of people, and have addressed national issues from the Covid-19 crisis to the treatment of migrants.

To mark the publication of the new Led By Donkeys book, which showcases some of the collective’s finest moments in 200 images, we welcome three of the founders – Oliver Knowles, James Sadri and Ben Stewart – to discuss the tactics they have deployed to speak truth to power, and the importance of direct action in turbulent times.
