THE CARDUCCI QUARTET, THE DAVE AYRE TRIO ft. ANTHONY BURTON

Following on from the success in 2022 of the journey through our local heritage and the music it inspired, we now take you on a very different journey exploring the emotions created in us, the audience, by the power of the performing arts.

An exhilarating exploration of musical styles from our local and internationally renowned classical and jazz musicians The Carducci Quartet, Dave Ayre, his son James, and the super-talented pianist Tom Berge.

Written especially for this programme, writer and broadcaster Anthony Burton delivers words from the heart expressing the range of emotions music inspires. Be prepared for passionate and sensitive performances of poignant, nostalgic, uplifting, awe inspiring, sorrowful and profoundly moving music and spoken word.

Welcome to Stroud Arts Festival’s 78th year!

Join us on a journey through gothic horror and melodrama to joyful jazz and poetry; from beautiful baroque music to soul-stirring operatic arias. Prepare to be hooked by classic storytelling, powerful visual art and evocative film, and of course - consummate musicianship.
