Sketchwolds!

Comedy Writing Course

Sketchwolds: The Cotswolds Sketch Show (COMEDY WRITING COURSE)

Join Chris Head - comedy coach, director and author of Creating Comedy Narratives for Stage & Screen - for a comedy writing course. (You can come again if you have come before as there will be new writing exercises and inspiring creative prompts.)

Develop your comedy writing, meet other writers and be inspired (and have a laugh) as you write sketches for Sketchwolds: The Cotswolds Sketch Show.

Write comedy sketches set in villages of honey-coloured stone, market towns, palaces, castles, churches, country houses, pre-historic sites, nature reserves, rolling hills, woodlands, gift shops, famers markets, yoga studios, yurts, model villages, pubs and anywhere else to be found within the five counties of the Cotswolds. Your characters might be the rich and famous, farmers, tourists (or tourist haters), green welly/ red trousers wearers, middle-class hippies, artists, teenagers, market traders, dry-stone wallers, witches, shamans, yogis, eco activists and more.

Sketches to be performed in a rehearsed reading at the Sub Rooms at the end of the course.

Tutor: Chris Head teaches comedy writing at British Library, BBC Writersroom and Bath Spa University and alongside TV producer and former BBC Comedy Commissioner Lucy Lumsden, he mentors writers for TV.

Sketchwolds: The Cotswolds Sketch Show (THE SHOW!)

A group of talented comedy writers have been working on a comedy sketch show set in the Cotswolds and starring the rich and famous, farmers, tourists (and tourist haters), green welly/ red trousers wearers, middle-class hippies, artists, dry-stone wallers, witches, shamans, yogis, eco activists and more. The show affectionately/angrily sends up the quirks and foibles of the region in a hilarious sketch show. Come and have at the Cotswolds and the people in it as the writer/performers perform the script in a rehearsed reading.
