Back for its fourth edition in 2026 is ‘The Sounds of Stroud’, the yearly Sub Rooms showcase, dedicated to grassroots musicians from our neck of the woods.
On Saturday the 7th of March 2026, we will welcome to the stage eight up-coming local bands & musicians for a night brimming with excitement and passion for music.
Each year we have been astounded by the quality of music being created in the five valleys and we cannot wait to hear a new selection of talented artists sharing their work with our ever-appreciative Sub Rooms audience.
We are deeply passionate about grassroots music and take great pride in being able to provide a platform for local musicians, shining a light onto emerging talent and underground heroes.

A hometown hero of a band, Lo-Hi-Lo are a band in a growth era - recently bolstering their original 3-piece live set up with two additional members. Soulful, meaningful lyrics and masterful playing combine to devastating effect.
With a style which ticks boxes for both irresistibly dancable beats and hauntingly beautiful melodies, Nostalgia Bias grabbed our attention and would not let go. With a female-male pair of band members sharing lead vocal duties, their sound offers a captivating balance of emotions.
Punchy, direct and incredibly well oiled - this firey four-piece have the look of a group headed to the top. With a raft of gigging experience under their belts in venues across the south-west, these boys know what it takes to whip up a crowd.
Sienna Galer won over our team with her sun-drenched country stylings, showcasing an uncommon songwriting skill and confidence for an artist so young. We can't wait to hear her saccharine tones in the ballroom.
This acolyte of the school of electronic music production and songwriting stood out among all applicants with her addictive beats & lyrics. Sometimes Eleanor will be bringing something truly unique to proceedings.
For a band made up of such young musicians, it really is impressive what a strong sound these lads kick out. Artictic Monkeys was a band that came to mind straight away - a must see!
There is a wisdom and worldliness in Young Werther's singing which recalls Nick Drake - a delicate melancholy which so much timeless folk has been laced with. This ephemeral quality captured us and secured this singer his place on the line up.
