Stroud Refugee Aid Choir: Handel's Messiah

Music
Stroud Refugee Aid Choir: Handel's Messiah
Stroud Refugee Aid Choir returns with a performance of Messiah. This evergreen oratorio is not just a Christmas event. It contains music of passion and fury as well as joy and triumph.

The Choir will be joined by Capriol Chamber Orchestra and four excellent local soloists. The
conducting will be a double act, shared between Hugh Barton and Jon Trim. Capriol will start the concert with Handel’s overture: The Arrival of the Queen of Sheba.

Stroud Refugee Aid Choir is an open access community choir of 100 singers. There are optional earlier practices, but the miracle occurs on the day of performance, when everyone comes together for the first time.

This year we are giving to Unicef’s Syria and Afghanistan Refugee Appeal, Gloucestershire Action for Refugees and Asylum Seekers (GARAS) and Stroud Women’s Refuge. Please come and fill the Sub Rooms and enjoy an exhilarating musical community event.
