Hue & Eye Exhibition

Hue and Eye: Approaches to Colour in Painting

This exhibition showcases the paintings of Vanessa Clemente Vincerò and Mick Mills. While both artists emphasise the value of abstract formal elements such as line, tone and composition, the expressive use of colour is at the core of their artistic practice.

Vanessa, a Stroud resident for most of her life, finds inspiration in depicting the human form, but she is, increasingly, motivated to represent the local landscape. This she interprets with exuberant large-scale compositions executed in vibrant colours.

While sharing Vanessa’s passion for colour, Mick Mills’ work is, by contrast, more introspective. This is reflected in his use of motifs drawn from the hermetic world of the artist’s studio which he articulates with a more subdued colour palette.

Exhibition open daily 14th – 21st June 11am – 5pm. 22nd June 11am - 2pm.

The exhibition is part of the Stroud SITE Arts Festival .
